High school graduation was a rite to passage with all the spoils of a champion. Most unfortunate is the missed opportunity for many casual acquaintences to bid a fond farewell to lifelong friendships. No Footloose rebellion will restore this year’s prom. Lockdown Session 2
MeanMan of York find themselves at the crossroads for a new way of life. We are going to need all the help we can get. Returning with a rendition of the Cheap Trick anthem Elo Kiddies, the band welcomes all the newbies to the fray. This project continues to be driven by our desire to always find a way to do what makes us happy. Right now, it is recording covers of the songs we have carried through life and suddenly provides clearer meaning to us.

Our work is usually conducted in the same room, but with the lockdown we have been deprived this luxury. However, we are playing the hand we have been dealt. Each member is leveraging our personal studio to record our tracks remotely and pass them on to yield these finished recordings of Songs For Lockdown. I hope you enjoy them.

Recording sequence for Elo Kiddies:
– AJ recorded drums on an iPhone 8 Plus situated in a knit hat using Voice Memos app and texts track to Truk
– Truk slams the drum track onto 8-track digital recording console and records his two guitar tracks
– Truk dumps drum and guitar tracks to DAT and deliver said DAT tape
– Tom loads drum and guitar tracks to digital recording console and records his bass track
– Tom records his first attempt at vocal tracks
– Tom dumps drum, guitar, bass and vocal tracks to DAT and drops tape on Truk’s front porch
– Truk reviews vocal tracks and says there is only so much I can do
– Tom goes back to work on vocal tracks
– Tom goes back to work on a different take of vocal tracks
– Truk stops by to pick up retake tape and mixes the track
